Central Board of Secondary Education CGPA to Percentage
CBSE’s notice CBSE/Coord/PS/(e-113153)/2023 dated 30.11.2023 is explicit: the Board does not calculate, declare, or inform percentage of marks. There is no overall division, distinction, or aggregate. If you took more than five subjects, the admitting institution or employer chooses how to take the best five. This page does not pretend CBSE publishes a current CGPA × 9.5 result for Class X or XII.

Note. No overall division, distinction, or aggregate shall be awarded (Examination Bye-Laws, Chapter 7, sub-section 40.1(iii)). If a candidate offered more than 5 subjects, the admitting institution or employer decides the best 5. Note. During the CCE grading period (around 2010–2017), CBSE Class X certificates gave an indicative conversion: overall indicative percentage = 9.5 × CGPA. That method is labelled historical on this page.
Marks-based estimate (current results)
Enter marks for up to six subjects. Default maximum is 100 each; you can edit the maximum. Turn on “Best 5 subjects” to drop the lowest, which is a common college rule — not a CBSE declaration. The result is sum of obtained marks ÷ sum of those maxima × 100. Your institution or employer may use a different method (they may insist on a particular subject, or include all six).
Historical CCE CGPA (around 2010–2017)
Older Class X certificates under CCE printed a CGPA and an indicative conversion: overall indicative percentage = 9.5 × CGPA. That calculator is labelled indicative and historical. Do not use it on a current Class X or XII marksheet that already shows subject marks without a CGPA.
How to get the official CBSE conversion certificate
CBSE does not issue a percentage. Admissions and employers apply their own rule (often best-of-five). Ask the institution that requested the percentage how they want subjects counted.

Does CBSE give a percentage on the marksheet?
The 30.11.2023 notice says the Board does not calculate, declare, or inform percentage of marks. Institutions and employers may compute one themselves.
Should I use CGPA × 9.5 for a current CBSE result?
Not for current Class X or XII marks. × 9.5 on this page is only the old CCE-era indicative conversion, clearly labelled historical.
What if I had six subjects?
The notice says the admitting institution or employer decides the best five. The optional Best 5 toggle follows that idea as an estimate only.

What is 8 CGPA in percentage in old CBSE CCE?
