Visvesvaraya Technological University CGPA to Percentage
VTU publishes a CGPA-to-percentage formula on its own “CGPA Standard Formula” page. That page currently lists the 2015, 2017 and 2018 schemes. The calculator on this page uses only that published formula: (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. It does not offer a 2021 or 2022 option, because we have not verified an official VTU document for those schemes.

What the VTU formula covers
The conversion is a linear shift: subtract 0.75 from the CGPA, then multiply by 10. A CGPA of 8.00 therefore becomes 72.50%. A CGPA of 6.00 becomes 52.50%. Values below 0.75 would produce a negative percentage; this page shows those as not applicable rather than inventing a floor.
Use the CGPA printed on your VTU grade card for the scheme you actually studied under. If your card names 2015, 2017 or 2018, the formula on this page matches the university’s public statement. If your card names 2021 or 2022, stop here and ask the college — do not pick a nearby scheme because a website grouped them together.
How students typically use the figure
Campus placements, GATE applications, and some PSU forms still ask for a percentage even when the university issues CGPA. Fill the percentage only if the form allows a converted figure, and keep the grade card ready. When a recruiter asks for an official conversion, the college or university certificate is the document that matters, not this page.
If two websites disagree, open the VTU formula page linked below and compute it once on paper. Competitor sites sometimes drop the 0.75 offset or apply × 9.5 from CBSE-era habit. Those are not the VTU formula listed for 2015–2018.

How to get the official VTU conversion certificate
Ask your college exam section or VTU’s examination office for a conversion or percentage certificate. Carry semester grade cards. Do not treat a website result as the figure for admissions or visas.
