APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala CGPA to Percentage
KTU amended the B.Tech 2019-scheme conversion in June 2023. University Order No. 1584/2023/KTU (Academic Council, 23rd meeting, item 023.3.13) sets the formula at 10 × CGPA. This calculator uses that amended rule. It does not apply the withdrawn 10 × CGPA − 2.5 method to new calculations.

Note. Before this amendment, Regulation R6.21 used 10 × CGPA − 2.5. The University amended it to 10 × CGPA. The calculator uses × 10. The old formula is shown as history only.
What changed
Until the June 2023 amendment, Regulation R6.21 converted CGPA with 10 × CGPA − 2.5. That subtracted 2.5 percentage points from every result. U.O. No. 1584/2023/KTU dated 29.06.2023 changed the conversion to 10 × CGPA. An 8.50 CGPA is 85.00% after the amendment, not 82.50%.
Why older KTU percentages look lower
Sites that were not updated after June 2023 still subtract 2.5. If you graduated under the 2019 scheme after the amendment, use × 10. If a company shortlisting sheet was built on the old regulation, show them the university order linked on this page.
The order is an academic-council amendment, not a college circular. Colleges implement it; they should not keep issuing −2.5 letters for students covered by the new rule unless the university says otherwise.
SGPA on this formula
The conversion discussed in the order is for CGPA as used in the regulation. A single-semester SGPA is a different number. Convert SGPA only if your college’s letter or the regulation for your purpose says so.

How to get the official KTU conversion certificate
Apply through your KTU-affiliated college. Quote the June 2023 university order if a recruiter still uses the old −2.5 formula. The college issues the letter.
