Why other sites show a different SPPU formula
The (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 pattern is common in some technical universities. Copying it onto SPPU is a frequent error. For 6.75 CGPA, that wrong formula gives 60.00%; the Examination Section document’s × 8.9 gives 60.08%. For 7.42 CGPA, × 8.9 gives 66.04%, which is the distinction threshold in the same PDF.
Programme-specific engineering patterns may still differ. If your mark list names a pattern with its own conversion note, follow that note or the college certificate.
Class / division on the same document
The 22 August 2022 PDF also maps CGPA bands to class: distinction from 7.42 (66%) or more, first class from 6.75, higher second from 6.18, second class from 5.62. Those bands are reproduced in the table below. They are not invented cutoffs from another university.
