Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Ordinance 11 (semester system, from academic session 2015-16) says CGPA × 10 is deemed equivalent to percentage of marks. An 8.00 CGPA is 80.00% under that ordinance. Students admitted from 2024 onward should confirm with GGSIPU; the conversion may have changed. This page does not use the (CGPA − 0.75) × 10 figure that some unofficial sites quote, because we have not found that notification on ipu.ac.in.

The CGPA x 10 shall be deemed equivalent to percentage of marks obtained by the student for the purpose of equivalence to percentage of marks.
Note. Students admitted from 2024 onward should confirm with GGSIPU; the conversion may have changed.
Note. Older CPI-based programmes treat the printed CPI as the percentage already — do not multiply CPI by 10. This calculator is only for a 10-point CGPA.
What we could verify on ipu.ac.in
Ordinance 11, on the university website as ordinanc11020815.pdf, states that CGPA × 10 is the equivalent percentage. The same rule still appears in later admission notes for GGSIPU’s own graduates. That is the formula this calculator uses.
Several third-party calculators cite a Controller of Examinations notice (GGSIPU/COE/2024/11150124, 15 January 2024) that would switch 2024 admissions to (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. We could not find that file on ipu.ac.in. Until GGSIPU publishes it, this page will not apply that offset.
CPI is not CGPA
Some IPU programmes print CPI on a marks-like scale. Admission notes treat that CPI as the percentage already. Multiplying a 75 CPI by 10 would be wrong. Only multiply when the award is a 10-point CGPA.
Other universities applying to IPU
If another board or university awards grades, conversion follows that board’s procedure, and the candidate must provide the document. If that university has no scheme, IPU describes dividing obtained CGPA by maximum CGPA × 100. That fallback is not this calculator’s Ordinance 11 CGPA × 10 rule.
